Which product is right for me?

The Full DVD Package is a complete invitation. Inside the decorative case will be a DVD invitation, a written invitation, and optional driving directions and RSVP cards. The Mini DVD Inserts are designed to be included with a separate traditional invitation. Since you are not purchasing any of the packaging, the price is much less expensive. This allows you to combine the mini DVD invitations with your choice of stationery. These are the best choice if you are excited about DVD invitations, but want the formality of traditional stationery. Opting for the mini DVDs will also reduce the cost of postage, since you will be mailing the DVDs without cases. When you recieve your mini DVD invitations, they will be inside clear vinyl protective sleeves which we provide.

What are mini DVDs?

Although mini DVDs are uncommon, all standard DVD players and computer DVD-ROMs can play them. The disc tray where you put your DVDs/CDs has a recessed area specifically for these miniature discs. There is no difference in quality between mini DVDs and standard ones, the mini DVDs simply hold less information. This means they can't hold a 2-hour movie, but are perfect for your photo montage!

How long are the DVD presentations?

A DVD invitation will typically last 2-4 minutes. If you desire a longer presentation, please let us know. Due to the extended editing time required, this would increase the production charge by $80 per minute.

What do I need to know to send my photos?

We accept both picture CDs and printed photos, and we recommend you provide at least 50 pictures. If you choose to send printed photographs, we will scan up to 20 photos at no additional charge. If you have printed photos that you wish to scan yourself, we recommend a scanning resolution of 300 dpi to insure the best possible quality. We do not recommend emailing your pictures. Emailing such a large number of pictures would require the images to be compressed to smaller files, resulting in a loss of quality. It is best to send the highest quality images possible. If you intend to take pictures specifically for your DVD project, please set your digital camera to the highest resolution. The zooming and panning effects used in the projects we create can reveal the pixelation of low resolution images. This means that pictures taken with a 5-megapixel camera have more potential to be animated than those taken with a 1-megapixel camera.

What type of videos can be included in my DVD project?

You can send one video tape (MiniDV, Hi8, Digital8, VHS) or DVD. Please specify which scene(s) you would like us to include. There is an additional fee for this service.

Can I choose the music in my presentation?

Yes, we encourage you to make your own music selection. Please be aware that we are creating a presentation for your personal use, not a commercial production to be profited from.

Will my photos/media be returned?

Yes, your photos, video, and CDs will be mailed back to you with your completed project.

How will I send my DVD invitations to my guests?

With the Full DVD Packages, we provide you with a white mailer for each DVD. This packaging encloses and protects the DVD case, and is where you'll add the address and postage.

How will guests without DVD players receive the invitation information?

DVD videos, as well as mini DVDs, not only play in designated players but also computer DVD-ROM drives and some video game consoles. In the event that one of your guests cannot access any of these, they can refer to the printed insert that we provide which includes all the information regarding your event.

How far in advance should I place my order?

Decide when you plan to send out your invitations to your guests, and subtract 3-4 weeks. This
will allow for enough time for Show & Tell to produce your DVDs and ship them to you.
To insure on-time delivery, please send us your project elements within 1-3 days of placing your order.

Will I have a chance to see my DVD before it is made?

Yes, after production is complete, we will email you a proof. The video will look similar to the clips on our 'samples' page, and the email will also include the design of the disc and printed inserts. You simply need to reply with your approval, and we will begin the physical production of your DVD invitations.
